4 New Releases to Leave Your Man Cave For This Christmas

Your man cave may be nice and cosy this December, but alongside Christmas parties and wintry festivities, there's a whole bevy of brilliant new blockbusters hitting cinema screens this season to tempt you away from your flat screen and reclining sofa. Time to take your timepiece out of its single watchwinder box, don your warmest winter wear, brave the elements and get stuck into the popcorn with our four cinematic picks of the season...

1. SPECTRE

Out since November, if you haven't wrapped your eyes around the latest installment from the James Bond franchise – what have you been doing with your life? Predictably glitzy, silly and action packed, the new 007 flick offers everything you want from Bond.

2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Hitting screens on 18^th December, the long-awaited return of Star Wars promises to be a return to form after the questionable (and contentious) “Jar Jar Binx” years. With Princess Leia, Han Solo and – yes – Luke Skywalker all reappearing as the older generation, this is not a movie to miss this Christmas.

3. The Peanuts Movie

Whether you're young, young at heart or just warmly nostalgic for the adventures of Charlie Brown and Snoopy created by Charles M. Schulz, The Peanuts Movie is pretty much guaranteed to make you feel ridiculously warm and fuzzy on the inside. Out on 21^st December.

4. Carol

Prefer your movies a little less high octane and a little more nuanced? Carol is the beautifully shot, highly acclaimed story of impossible love between two women in 1950s New York, starring the magnificent Cate Blanchett in one of her most powerful performances to date.
